Glasgow Botanical Gardens

I spent a lovely morning wandering around the Glasgow Botanical Gardens. Here are the photos from my visit.

Desert Plants and Succulents

In the Orchid House

Carnivorous Plants

Other plants in the glasshouses

Outdoor plants

Themed beds

The botanic gardens included some interesting themed beds. Here are photographs from a selection, showing: plants typical of Scotland, and the "chronological border" series which shows examples of plants introduced to Scotland from the 16th - 20th centuries.

Poetry and Art

An interesting mix of traditional and modern artworks can be found in the gardens. I particularly like the postbox in which you are invited to post your own poems. I was tempted to pop my son's favourite in there: "I wandered lonely as a cloud that floats on high o'er trees and jungles, when all at once I saw a crowd a host of golden daffodungles"!
